How to do keyword research ? working method 2017

Hi and welcome. My name from Jackie Christensen seoacademy.net and today I want to talk about keyword show can you find the right keywords that actually make your money or drive traffic to your website if you talk about keywords then basically there is the long tail keyword and there's the
short tail or short head keyword the short tail will be quiet most of the time competitive it would be something like insurance or cheap whatever and it will be quite competitive if we look at a long tail keywords then it could be a combination of three four five words or a part a sentence or it could be a
question everything that is relevant for your product or service and has got a quiet ok search volume but the competition is quite low because nobody's optimizing for this keyword or not a lot of people
which way should you go so what I would really recommend is first of all to focus on keyword research so you should go out and make some brainstorming ask your customers ask your client if you have got the chance how would you search for that because sometimes you know if you work inside of a company then you're getting like blind for the other keywords what i mean by that is maybe you internally use different keywords or different words for certain products and your customers or users will have a total different language to search for it so it's very important to look at your target group and find out how would they search for it.you should try to collect as many keyword options as possible so one way would be like to ask friends and family ask customers then go out and use certain tools like you could use keyword.io we would suggest you could use the keyword planner there are a lot of tools out there where you can find keywords and then you could also use answer the public It's a tool where you can find out what questions they users may have and they also give
you additional data if you have all that data I would suggest to upload it into the keyword planner and then find out how is the search volume so how much search volume is really there for every
keyword and how is the competition and if you know that basically the best keyword for you would be of course the key word that has got a high search volume and the low competition and of course is related to your product or service if you know that then you are on the right way but the
best thing actually would be if you spend some money i would say you try to set up an AdWords campaign and let it two three four weeks let it run and see if the keywords that you picked are also converting this is very important otherwise it could happen to you that you probably optimized for keywords and me if you start SEO or if you try to optimize for a new keyword depending how competitive to keyword is it could take you weeks and months and years to rank quite well and if you discover after this time that its ranking but it's not converting then you lost a lot of time and money so if you have the chance to do a little adwords and see if these keywords are also converting of course if you have internal data already if your company's 10-15 years old if you did Adwords already and stuff like that or if you just know that keywords are converting of course then it's totally fine it's just important to know if you pick a keyword you also actually pick your competitors so you could say picking a keyword is picking a fight sometimes you will have very strong large competitors that can spend a lot of money on SEO they have got a SEO agencies or they have got the internal SEO department and this will be quite hard for you to compete and if you decide to go that way you should at least be sure that the keywords are converting later on.I hope that was useful and I see you
